Are vaccines free?

COVID-19 vaccination is free via My Turn California. Other vaccinations include an administration fee.

Who can get vaccinated for COVID-19

Any Californian aged 6 months and older can get vaccinated for free through myturn. ‍

What is your availability for at home services?

At-home appointments are available Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 3 pm.

What services do you offer?

We provide mobile specimen collection, delivery services, and live scan. We are not a lab and we do not conduct lab analysis. We collect the specimens required, according to the lab order written by your provider.

I have a specialty lab kit, can you help me?

Yes, we are familiar with a vast array of diagnostic lab kits and specialty testing services. Our technician will collect the specimens, process them according to the kit instructions, then package and drop off the lab kit to the designated shipping carrier (usually FedEx, UPS, USPS). For lab kit assistance, please provide pictures of the following Shipping label Processing instructions Lab requisition Supplies that were provided in the kit

What do I need to schedule services?

You will need to provide a copy of the lab order(s).

Can I schedule services for someone else?

Yes, you can schedule on behalf of the patient if you are a caregiver, family member, or another party responsible for the patient’s care.

How do I schedule services?

How do patients book a visit?

Can I schedule a weekend appointment?

We are unable to offer weekend appointments at this time.

Can I reschedule an appointment?

Yes! If the appointment is not canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, we will charge a 50% cancellation fee.

What do I do if something goes wrong?

In the rare case that something occurs, please contact us right away at (415) 300-4436 or at support@baypls.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Disclaimer: We will respond within our business operating hours Monday-Friday from 9 am-5 pm.

Does BayPLS provide draws for children?

Yes, with parental consent. Please contact us directly if you need a pediatric draw collected. When you're scheduling an appointment for pediatric draws, contact us right away at (415) 570-4178 or at support@baypls.com.

Are your phlebotomists certified to collect blood?

Yes, absolutely. All BayPLS clinicians are certified under CDPH.

Is my personal information confidential?

Yes, your healthcare information is confidential and only used for scheduling and coordination purposes. BayPLS is HIPAA compliant and follows strict patient health information confidentiality protocols.

What if I don't have a lab order?

Your physician will provide an order for you. In order to receive service, we require a lab order for blood testing services.

Can I schedule a late-night or early-morning appointment?

We typically see patients early morning due to fasting.

Is BayPLS HIPAA compliant?

Yes, we uphold the highest standards and value patient privacy.

Is BayPLS a laboratory?

BayPLS is not a laboratory. We send licensed lab staff to your home to collect your sample and deliver specimens to the laboratory of your choice. Sample analysis and result reporting are handled by the laboratory.

What precautions is BayPLS taking for COVID-19?

We’re taking steps to help keep you and our staff safe: Our phlebotomists wear medical-grade personal protective equipment, including; masks, gloves, and medical scrubs Phlebotomists change into new PPE for each visit Phlebotomists carry disinfectants and sanitizers We screen our phlebotomists and patients before each visit and again upon arrival

Is fasting required?

Fasting depends on the requested lab test. Your doctor will let you know if you need to fast on the lab order.

What should I do if I'm having an issue booking an appointment?

We apologize for any inconvenience and are happy to help. Please contact us at (415) 300-4436 or at support@baypls.com.

How do I get my lab results?

Your lab results will be coming from the lab where your specimen was delivered. Results will typically be ready in 1-8 business days depending on the lab. BayPLS does not process your sample. Certain lab tests may take longer and results are reliant on your lab of choice. Once your results are ready, your doctor will contact you to review the results together. In addition, you can check if your lab results are ready with the following options: 1. Check the patient portal for your laboratory 2. Contact your doctor's office 5 business days after your visit Notice: For your privacy, Hive Healthcare does not receive any information on your lab result status. Results are only shared with you, your provider who ordered your lab test, and the laboratory you selected.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept ACH (account # and routing info needed), Venmo, and all major credit cards.

Do you do draws outside of your service area?

Yes, we may be available to go outside our service area for additional travel fees. Please contact us for a quote on appointments outside of our primary service area.

Do you have a clinic where I can come for my blood testing service?

Yes, we accept walk-ins and appointments at our Patient Service Center: 841 San Bruno Ave W Suite 100, San Bruno, CA. 94066

What is your service area?

We serve the nine Greater Bay Area counties including Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara.

Do you do draws for medical facilities such as nursing homes or skilled nursing's facilities?

Yes.

Can you come to my place of work?

Yes, as long as your employer permits it and it is a clean environment.

Can I schedule a same-day appointment?

Yes. Additional fees are incurred for same-day appointments and are subject to availability.

Will you deliver my samples to the lab?

Yes. We deliver your specimens to the lab of your choice, as well as any courier company like FedEx, UPS, or USPS. Delivery includes processing (centrifuging samples) and separating plasma/serum into separate containers for mailing in insulated ice pack containers. You may upload your insurance information in order for the resulting lab to accept your specimen.

Does BayPLS work with insurance or medicare?

No, BayPLS is self-pay by patients. However, patients can submit their receipt to insurance companies and request reimbursement.

How much do home services cost?

Fees vary by the types of tests ordered by your doctor, the location of the appointment, and where the laboratory samples are delivered to. Patients should expect a bill between $240-300. Please contact us for more information and a free quote.

How much do blood draws cost at BayPLS patient service centers?

Blood draws at our patient service centers costs $50.

How much is live scan?

Live scan background check services cost $35 at our San Bruno patient service center.

How much is COVID testing?

COVID-19 testing is free with insurance. For non-insurance, Antigen is $49 and PCR (COVID-19, FLU A+B & RSV) is $125.

Does insurance cover your services?

Yes. We provide an itemized invoice (receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many insurances will reimburse you the full or partial cost of service. For more information, please visit the insurance section of our website. Please note: We offer the ability to upload your insurance information. You can submit your receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
